Our Approach

OT supports child reading a book

Honeybee OT provides holistic pediatric occupational therapy. We use creative, sensory and play-based therapeutic techniques to facilitate learning and development. We also emphasize the importance of the family system at home and empower caregivers to be active participants in their child’s therapy journey. Our unique, family-oriented approach helps children realize their unlimited potential and participate fully in everyday life.

About the Owner

Honeybee OT occupational therapist

Rebecca Mattie, OTR/L

I’ve worked for years as on OT in the school system and launched my private practice as a way to extend my work beyond the walls of the school. This has meant helping kids in the familiar spaces of their own homes and being a trusted guide to teens practicing skills in real-life situations.

Key Details about my Work as an OT

  • I offer craniosacral therapy which is a hands-on method for calming the nervous system for body and emotional healing for children, teens, and their parents.

  • I love, Love, LOVE addressing social-emotional challenges with kids and teens because it can transform the dynamic of the entire family.

  • I take a few clients during the school year but I really ramp up what I offer during the summer when everyone has more time for OT.

And it’s not all about occupational therapy. I love traveling to visit family and friends with my husband and young son!
